@ asX: OSX is free and a good starting point, but if you want to try it on a different PC (e.g. an old PC that isn't fast enough for Windows 8) I recommend running Windows in a virtual machine (virtualbox or vmware) using the 64bit "lite" version. The "lite" version is free on the Microsoft website.
